Unfortunately, it totally misses the point and misrepresents the nature of the current Russian state and it misrepresents Putin himself, portraying him as a moral and well-balanced paleoconservative reformer mending the broken society left by bolshevism and Yeltsin. Sure, anyone familiar with Putin and the power structure he represents would find this picture more of a crude caricature than a reflection of reality.
But worthy reading nevertheless. It is persuasive in a clever way.
Proper counter-arguments are easy to find, but they all fall flat because of the failures of the West.
If the West does not find the path to sweeping reforms ( long live the Expert Revolution ! ), there could be no proper settlement, which could come only as a result of demonstrably successful reformatting of the Western political landscape, not from reasoning nor moral posturing.
