No doubt, the Dog and the Cat symbolically represent many things.
For example - male and female, Republicans and Democrats, Liberals and Labor, Left and Right Hemisphere of the Brain, Sun and Moon, Apollo and Dionysis, beer and champagne, bread and circuses, heaven and hell. fire and smoke.
Yet they are not equal to any of the abovementioned things. Do I love them equally? No, it depends on the time of the day and my current whims.
I also have a few chooks and a rooster, yet I haven't decided yet whether this equates to the rest of the LGBTQ+ spectrum. I have to confess I eat their eggs often and sometimes desire their flesh as well.
I also wish to have a horse, a cow, a goat, and perhaps a small elephant. They are yet to come out of my closet. I also used to have a parrot, but it flew away. Alas.
