An Indigenous youth support group in Mount Isa has criticised the local council for not involving a wider selection of the community in conversations about how to tackle juvenile crime in the north-west Queensland city.
Crisis talks were held last week between the local council, State Government officials and local representatives, to develop a community action plan on the issue.
Injilinji Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Corporation CEO Pattie Lees said her group, and others, were upset they were not included.
"I think there should be a process where those voices can be fed in, whether it's another community meeting ... people feel that they've been denied an opportunity," she said.
